To quickly get impression of the features, you may click on the Demo Data link of the program in order to load an address book file with demo data.
You can switch back to your default address book by clicking on the Live Data link
A few tips of starting:
1. Fields are grouped by section.
2. When adding a new contact, the program will add some frequently used fields for you, and you may add unlimited fields of sections. You may pick up a field name from the drop down list, or just key in. Frequently used operations of editing have keyboard shortcuts.
3. The Action button has content awareness. For example, when you focus on an Email field, it will be for creating Email with the Email address; when on an address field, for calling map service.
You may check the download page for the latest updates. In addition, a Google Desktop plug-in for Open Contacts is available at Google Desktop.
If your monitor is using a display setting of Large Size (120 DPI), you might need to adjust the layouts of windows of Open Contacts and save the layouts.
If you like this program, please recommend it to your friends. When more and more of your friends are using this program, it will be handy for you to update your own personal contact info in their address books.
To share the database with staffs in the same office, please refer to data sharing guide to run the program in client/server mode.
